Roy Frank Hamilton, 90, of 1799 Barringer Road, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House. A native of York County, Mr. Hamilton was born December 19, 1919 a son of the late Julius Montgomery and Quida Allen Hamilton. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 35 years. He was a member of Mt. Holly United Methodist Church, having served as chairperson of the Administrative Board, Lay delegate to the annual conference and various other committees, and member of the Senior Citizens. Mr. Hamilton was a life member and past master of Masonic Lodge #111, life member and past Illustrious Master Campbell Council #18, Past High Priest and life member of Bratton Chapter #32, life member of the Rock Hill Commandery #15, life time member of the Hejaz Temple and York County Crescent Shrine Club and played football for the Rock Hill Bearcats 1936-37 and was captain in 1937. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Allen Hamilton, David Hamilton and Bill Hamilton; and three sisters Delura Blackwelder, Dot Camp and Doris Hutto. Surviving are his wife of 70 years Lillian Mitchell Hamilton; two sons R. Julius Hamilton and wife Cathie of Rock Hill, Robert Allen "Bob" Hamilton of Clover; three daughters Lynda Robbins and husband Eugene of Edgemoor, Claire Whitmire and Debbie Teague both of Rock Hill; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Tuesday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Hamilton will be held Wednesday at 2:00pm at Mt. Holly United Methodist Church with Reverend Dan Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Full Masonic Rites. Memorials may be made to Mt. Holly U.M.C. 1996 Mt.
