Mr. Roy Thomas Murphy age 89 died Thursday September 2, 2010 in Rock Hill. Born May 9, 1921 a son of the late Tom and Minnie McGuirt Murphy. Mr. Murphy was member of White Springs Baptist Church in Lancaster and retired from Lance Corporation and World War II Army Veteran.

Survivors include his wife Vivian Neal Murphy of Fort Mill; son David Murphy of Indian Land; three daughters Frances Morrison of Lancaster; Phyllis Deese of St. Clairsville Ohio and Wanda Fortson of Fort Mill; one brother Jimmy Couey of Salisbury, NC; ten grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Jimmy Murphy.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday September 4, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jason Coley officiating. Burial will follow in the Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill.

The family will receive friends prior to service from 11-11:50 at funeral home.
