Roy Lampkin Williams

December 17, 1932 — June 4, 2017

Mr. Roy Lampkin Williams, age 84, passed away June 4th 2017 at his home in Fort Mill, SC.
Born in Miami, FL and raised in West Palm Beach, FL. Son of the late Sarah Rampey Williams-Smith.

Roy Graduated from Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC in 1954 with a BA in English, he was a member of the National Honor Blue Key Society, and a Brother of Sigma Nu.

Roy served our great nation in the United States Army as an Officer First Lieutenant.

Roy worked for Travelers Insurance for 33 years and retired in the upper level management from the Los Angeles area.

Roy supported many dogs causes, including: Guide Dogs of America in Greater Los Angeles, as well as various pet adoptions agencies in Los Angeles. He was a volunteer for both Project Angel Food and Meals on Wheels.

He had a great love for music and enjoyed signing choral music; he traveled internationally, especially to Germany. He had great a love for car shows, especially German cars. Roy was an excellent cook and loved entertaining in his home for family and friends.

Roy was man of generosity, empathy, and had great respect for others throughout his life. He was known for his beautiful blue eyes.

Roy is survived by his Life-Partner and main caregiver of many years, Gary S. Bonaccorso, and their two Angels-of-Love dogs, Bofill (Bo) and Beulah. His extended family the Fenno's: Alan, Anna, Adam (Everett), and Aaron, who were there for him with Love and Support, especially over this last year. A blessing-of-support to Morgan Wessinger, a great nurse, friend, and supportive caregiver, and to Ryan Monk, Esquire for his years of friendship and professional support.

Roy is also survived by two nieces and nephew of Alabama; Lisa Burke, Vickie O'Neal, and Mark Williams, and their respective families.

He was preceded in death by his true life-long best friends, Betty and Ray Majors, his brother and sister-in-law Wade E. Williams and Sarah Williams, and his sister Virginia (Jenny) Williams Starnes.

Gary Bonaccorso would like to give a very special thank you to his caregivers of Providence Care Hospice: Dr. Romin Shah, LaVisa, Emily, Lisa, Marsha, and Francis.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Friday, June 23rd 2017 at 11:30 AM at Palmetto Funeral Home Chapel, with Military Honors to follow from the United States Army.
