Ruby Nell Crump

Dateline: Matthews Ruby Nell Goforth Crump, 81, 1609 Gander Cove Lane #14, passed away Monday, October 26, 2009 at Carrington Place. A native of Durham, NC, Mrs. Crump was born January 24, 1928 a daughter of the late John Vernon and Sallie Mae Temple Goforth. She was a retired receptionist with The Charlotte Observer and member of Maranantha Baptist in Charlotte. Mrs. Crump was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Maultsby. Surviving are her husband James Floyd Crump, Sr.; children Mr. and Mrs. Walter Taylor of Matthews, Mr. and Mrs James Crump, Jr. of Matthews and Mr. and Mrs. Felix Sanchez of Matthews; a brother John Vernon Goforth, Jr. of Charlotte; a sister Madge Cullingford of Monroe; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Crump will be held Friday at 3:00pm at Sunset Memory Gardens in Charlotte with Reverend Albert Johnston officiating.
