Rubye Nunnery Whisonant

Rubye Nunnery Whisonant, 92, of Rock Hill, SC passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Born in Edgemoor, SC, Mrs. Whisonant was the daughter of the late William and Althea Nunnery. She formerly worked at Model Beauty Shop in downtown Rock Hill and then opened and ran her own beauty salon. She was a member of the National Cosmetology Association. Mrs. Whisonant was a member of Neely's Creek A.R.P. Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Clayton, Odell, and Donald Nunnery. She is survived by her step-son, Lewis M. Whisonant of Rock Hill, SC; a grandson, Timothy Whisonant; a niece, Phyllis Jennings; 3 nephews, Curtis Nunnery, Bill Nunnery, and Dr. Kenneth Nunnery. A graveside service will be held 2pm Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Edgemoor Cemetery with Rev. Heiko Berklin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8pm Friday, March 15, 2013 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at the home of Lewis Whisonant, 2455 Lesslie Hwy Rock Hill, SC 29730. Memorials may be made to Neely's Creek A.R.P. Church, 974 Neelys Creek Rd. Rock Hill, SC 29730.
