Russell Glenn-Scott Cooper

Russell Glenn-Scott (Scottie) Cooper was born on February 12th, 1974 to Ann Creighton Cooper and Russell Timothy Cooper in Lancaster, South Carolina. Scottie was called home to Jesus on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was a special son and loved by all who knew him. We will miss him but we are at peace knowing he is at home in Heaven. Scottie was christened as an infant at Lynnwood United Methodist Church in Lancaster, South Carolina. After he reached adulthood, he was baptized at Bethel United Methodist Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Scottie resided at Babcock Center Rabbit Run Care Facility in Hopkins, South Carolina, for the past ten years where he captured the hearts of all the staff and caregivers who worked to make him as happy and productive as possible. Scottie's favorite activities were Singing simple songs and going to McDonald's with his parents. Scottie was the middle son and is survived by his parents, Russell Timothy and Ann Creighton Cooper; his elder brother, James Robert Cooper (Amanda); his nieces, Amber Grace Cooper and Meagan Ann Cooper; his younger brother Michael Patrick Cooper and his paternal grandmother, Mary Kathleen Cooper. All are residing in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Scottie was preceded in death by: his paternal grandfather, James Theodore Cooper; his maternal grandparents, James Creighton, Ollie Edio Black and Robert Black and great aunts Grace Bailey and Mozelle Darby, all who loved Scottie dearly and are now celebrating with him in their heavenly home. A Life Celebration will be held for Scottie on Friday, May 18th at Rawlinson Road Baptist Church, 1024 Rawlinson Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina, 29732 followed by internment at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 South Cherry Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, May 17th at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, 700 Heckle Blvd, Rock Hill, SC 29730. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made as donations to Rawlinson Road Baptist Church Children's Ministry at Rawlinson Road Baptist Church, 1024 Rawlinson Road, Rock Hill, South Carolina, 29732.
