Ruth Naomi Cowart , 84 passed away Friday January 20, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was born Nov. 30, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Carl & Ruth Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Raymond Joseph Cowart, her brother John Carlisle Wilson and her nephew Matthew DeBock. Raised in Philadelphia, PA she met her soulmate Ray Cowart & they were married November 28, 1959.

In 1969 Ruth & her family moved to Georgia, eventually settling in Kennesaw, GA where she called home until 2000 when she moved to Fort Mill, SC. Ruth had a passion for life and always enjoyed reading, cross-stitch, crocheting & baking her amazing cakes. She was an avid Braves and University of Georgia Bulldog fan never missing a chance to cheer on her teams.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Cowart, Daniel Cowart, Laurie Hogan (Mike), Stacey Labrador (Angel) & Christopher Cowart all of Fort Mill, grandchildren Kara Hogan (Chase), Raymond Labrador (Wendy), Shane Hogan (Alina), Rachel Labrador (Caleb), Trey Hogan & Alex Labrador, step grandchildren Heather Martin(Ward), Tom List(Janie) & Jessica Herron(CJ). two great-grandsons Angel Peter & Solomon Lee Labrador and her nieces Anne DeBock & Sharon Goddard and their families all of Reno,NV. Let us not forget her Boston Terrier Ruby Rose who has been by her side since 2018.

The family will receive friends on Saturday Jan. 28, 2023 at 2:00pm at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Fort Mill,SC  and a memorial service at 3:00pm with Rev. Mr. George Johnston officiating. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to PetSmart Charities .
