Sadie M Godfrey

Leland, NC - Sadie Maie Easterling Godfrey, 76, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017, at WillowBrook Court at Park Point Village, Rock Hill, SC.
She was born on January 20, 1941, in Atkinson, NC at the home of her late grandparents Adolphus Christopher and Josephine Simmons Justice. She was the daughter of LeRoy Fonville and Marguerite Justice Easterling. After the death of her mother in 1954, she was raised by her loving grandmother Josephine Simmons Justice.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Alan West of Wilmington, NC; her daughters: Alice Marie Duplissey of Leland, NC and Anita Farmer Clark and husband, David of York, SC; a stepson, Billy Eugene Godfrey, Jr. and wife, Heather of Wilmington, NC; a stepdaughter, Jennerea G. Schoo and husband, Joseph of Boiling Springs, NC; grandsons, Scott Parish and wife, Tina, Timothy (T.J.) Duplissey, Christopher Parish, and Matthew Parish; step grandchildren, Roman Prince, Nick Prince, John Godfrey, Katherine Prince, Zachery Schoo, Zoe and Geoffrey Schoo; six great-grandchildren: Cadence, Skyy, Madeline, Caleb, Aubrey, Grayson, Maddox, and Bentley; and a sister, Josephine Pensivy Duckworth. She is the widow of Billy Eugene Godfrey.

She lived a life always trying to help other people and never met a stranger. She enjoyed her family, music, gardening, birds and many other of God's creatures that crossed her path. She leaves behind her dog and best friend, Hope.

A celebration of her life will be held in Wilmington, NC at a later date.
