Samuel Porter Gaston, 74, of Rock Hill, died Thursday, July 27. 2017 surrounded by his family. He worked for the City of Rock Hill for over 30 years and was a loving and caring family man. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia Sexton Gaston; 3 children, Pat Gaston (Phyllis), Rene Lipe (Billy Joe), Lisa Sheppard (Jack); 2 sisters, Mary Martin, Betty Loveless; 3 brothers, David Gaston (Carrie), Johnny Gaston (Martha), Bill Gaston; grandchildren, Phil Gaston (Rebecca), Eric Gaston, Jamie Lipe (Stephanie), Daniel Lipe, Felicia Turnage, Magan Koker (Arik); great-grandchildren, Destiny, Bradley, Hope, Jason, Blake, Gabe, Tyler, Jae, Elyssa, Brayden, Will; lovable companion, Rosco the Dog; a host of nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters in law, Eddie/Patty Sexton, Teena and Tommy Elkins, Kathy Gantz (Larry); first wife, Martha Thompson. A funeral will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2:00pm in the Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Grandview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to hospicecommunitycare.org or to the Leukemia Society at www.lls.org.
