Sandy Wilson Beach, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 17, 2024 surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his mother Frances Beach, father Dewey Beach, brother Jim Beach, son David Beach and daughter-in-law Kari Beach. He is survived by his eldest son, Rusty Beach of Fort Mill, SC, 2 grandchildren - Alyssa Cook (and husband Devin) of Fort Mill, SC and Kaira Orvin of Charleston, SC.
Sandy was a veteran obtaining rank as SSGT in the US Army. He served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam and also served as a turbine engine mechanic on the presidential helicopter for both President Ford and President Nixon. After leaving the military, he worked in the appliance repair business for a local repair company before opening his own 24-hour appliance repair business in the Charlotte and surrounding area. He also volunteered as a Carolina Clown back in the 1980’s to help bring smiles and laughter to children and the elderly in the Charlotte area. He most recently worked in the service department for Volvo/GMC. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed spending time at the hunt camp with his brother.
There is no memorial service planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Levine Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society in his honor.
