Sarah Sheppard

Sarah S. Sheppard, of 1554 Eden Terrace, died July 19, 2010 after a long illness. The widow of Otis Sheppard, she was born November 3, 1930 in Heath Springs, SC to the late Robert and Bessie Shehane. A graduate of Rock Hill High School she resided most of her life in Greenwood, SC before returning to Rock Hill. She was employed at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood before her retirement and was a member of New Market Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters Darlene and husband Ronald Grice of Leesville, SC, Kimberly and husband Dr. Joseph DeStefano of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren Tommy and wife Stacey Gambrell, Atlanta, GA, Joey DeStefano, Gina DeStefano, and Justin DeStefano of Simpsonville SC; great grandchildren Elliott Gambrell and Adeline Gambrell of Atlanta, GA ; sisters Viola Starnes and Marie Simpson both of Rock Hill. Ms. Sheppard was preceded in death by her first husband and children's father William Winn. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home with Pastor Ronnie Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 S Cherry Road in Rock Hill. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
