Saundra Faye Rabon

May 12, 1958 — July 21, 2014

Saundra Faye Pittman Rabon, aged 56, claimed her angel wings on Monday, July 21, 2014, surrounded by her friends and family.

Saundra was born on May 12, 1958 and grew up in Fort Mill, SC. She spent many happy years in Waycross, GA before returning to the Charlotte area. She worked in the service industry for most of her life and made a positive impact on the lives of everyone she met.

Saundra never met a stranger. She was the life of the party and had a smile that would light up the room. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always kept her loved ones laughing. She was a selfless, giving person, who always put others needs before her own. Saundra loved music, particularly gospel, funk, and soul. She was an animal lover, and rescued many of them throughout her lifetime. She loved and cared for her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children, and in many ways they were. She had special nicknames for all of them. Saundra had faith in Jesus Christ, and while we will always miss her terribly, we take comfort in knowing she is in heaven surrounded by her loved ones.

Saundra is survived by her husband, John Robert "Bobby" Rabon; her twin sister (and best friend) Wanda Pittman Ashley; her brothers Roger and Tony Wyatt; 5 step-siblings: Sandy Westbury, Anne Hartline, Debbie Lowe, Richard Bell, and Robert Bell; her nephews Donny Scurry, John Ashley, and Vernon Passmore; nieces Nikki Stewart and Cassi Ashley; great nephews JT Ashley and Isaiah Witt; great nieces Mariah Scurry, Makenzie Ashley, Natalie Moore, Summer and Autumn Johnson, and Isabella Bair; and her fur babies Munchie, Angelica, and Tara. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Pittman and Bonnie Jean McLaurin; her stepmother Doris Pittman; her sister Cathy Stewart; her brother Wally Pittman; her stepbrother Michael Bell; her niece, Mary Scurry, and her nephew, Shaun Moore.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Sunday, July 27th, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Whitesell Funeral Home of Rock Hill with Pastor Mike Wooten officiating. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
