Sfc Ronald L. Moss (Us Army Retired)

December 10, 1943 — October 1, 2020

SFC Ronald L. Moss (US Army retired) , 76, of Sharon joined God's heavenly Army on Oct 1. He is survived his wife, Louise, and children, Jean Gates (Alan) of IL, Richard Moss (Allen) Charlotte, and Barbara Stephenson (Stevie) of Rock Hill, 4 grandchildren, Brandy Greeson, William Gates, Richard Allen Moss, and Griffen Stephenson and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Doris Thomas, Sue Passmore, Lorrene Griffin, Jimmy Moss, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death  by his parents JB and Sally Moss, siblings, Dan Moss, Ida Mae Ramsey, Evelyn Turner, Hershell Moss, and Horace Moss.

A memorial service will be held on Oct 11, at 2 pm at 1607 Suttons Springs Road, York, SC.

While Ronald was in the Army, he served in the Dominican Republic with the 82nd Airborne, 2 tours of Vietnam with the 101st Airborne, and in Germany with the 2nd Armored Calvary Regiment. Stateside assignments included Forts Benning, Ord, Irwin, Bragg and Campbell.  After retirement, he worked for various companies including William Edwards, Builders Transport, Hiatt Trucking, and Synergetic.

For fun, he loved spending time with his family, siblings and friends from all over the country. He enjoyed going to the Dirty Delta Reunions and reconnecting with those military comrades. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and rock hounding. He also loved to read books, especially Westerns and Ann McCaffrey's Pern series.  He enjoyed music and playing the guitar.
