Shane English

November 28, 1970 — December 16, 2016

Shane was a graduate of the University of Arizona and served in the Air Force for 12 years. He loved the Carolina Panthers and his South Carolina Gamecocks. Shane's personality and smile were contagious to all who truly knew him. He loved his sons and never once thought of his wife's children as anything other than his own. He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend, Diana Mederos English, his children John Raymond, Tiffany, Anthony, Ginger, Marco, Alex, Jayden, and his beloved sixth grade teacher, Susan (Norman) Duncan.

His remaining family members are his mother, Sandy Walden, his stepfather, Johnny Walden, his brothers, Jason and Michael English, his in-laws, Raymond Mederos, Beatriz Mederos, Carol Weissberger, Rich and Julie Burnet, and Veronica and Sandra Mederos.

Shane passed away at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, surrounded by his wife, Diana's children, his father-in-law, Colton Helms, and his teacher, Ms. Norman.

It does not matter what Shane had or accomplished in his life. What matters is his significance while he was here and that he made a profound difference in the lives of those who knew him and loved him. His life was finally filled with love, and he treasured that love. Shane's honesty and integrity brightened and changed the lives of those he loved and those who loved him greatly in return. His life force was infectious, his larger-than-life character and spirit will never leave us, and he will truly be missed. We celebrate Shane's life--a life that will transcend the sorrow we feel in his absence.
