Shannon Wilson Gunn

Mr. Shannon Wilson Gunn 40, of Fort Mill, SC passed away at home on Sunday, August 24th, 2014. He was born in Rock Hill, SC to Evelyn Fowler Gunn and the late Woodrow Wilson Gunn. Shannon attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Fort Mill, SC and was a graduate of Fort Mill High School. He was the Firearms Manager at Nichols Store for over 10 years and was a former employee of Waldrop Supply. Shannon was a lifetime member of the NRA, the GSSF and a member of the Charlotte Rifle and Pistol Club. He was an avid competitive shooter, loved the outdoors and hunting. He loved his job and all those he came in contact with. Shannon always put others before himself, a kind generous and caring, true, compassionate soul who loved the Lord, his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his Nichols Store family. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, August 27th, 2014 at Palmetto Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 pm - 2:00pm before the service. In addition to his mother, Shannon is survived by three brothers; Jerry Reid Taylor and wife Juanita of Hartwell, GA, Jeffery Lane Taylor and James Edward Taylor both of Fort Mill, and four sisters; Mary Joan Taylor Lucas and husband David of Clover, SC, Dianne Taylor Gillespie and husband Bill of Conway, SC, Rosie Mae Gunn Hinson of Camden, SC and Alice Kay Gunn Johnson of Lugoff, SC. He is also survived by his God-given brother Darren Nichols. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
