Shirley Poole Horton

Shirley Poole Horton of Rock Hill went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2024. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 2:00pm at Grandview Memorial Park- Cherry Road with Pastor Jerry Devinney and Pastor Nick Vincent officiating.

She was a charter member of Eastside Baptist Church where she served as secretary for 24 years. She also worked for Celanese Corporation for 17 years.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Albert C. Poole and Mildred Pope Poole; brother, Jerry Poole; and husband of 57 years, Leonard Ernest Horton.

Shirley is survived by son, Michael (Allyson) who she loved more than life; sister-in-law, Nina Poole; nephew, Todd Poole; loving family members, Brenda and Richard Blackwell, Danny and Sheila Hill, Cathy Gokey; and life long friends, Ruth Hinson and Connie Clinton.
