Mrs. Shirley Williams Wilson, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Mrs. Wilson was born in Anniston, AL, a daughter of the late Lewis James and Shirley Mae Higgins Williams. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years Alvin Royce Wilson and her son Ross Wilson, a sister Olice Dorman and a step grandson D.J. Hilton. Mrs. Wilson was an elegant lady with a special talent for fashion and decorating. She was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. All will deeply miss her. She is survived by her daughter Yolanda Hilton and husband Danny, son Don Wilson and wife Iris all of Rock Hill, her brothers Richard, Lewis, and Donald Williams all of Anniston, AL, Norman Williams of Douglasville, GA; her sisters Ann Jones of Anniston, AL, and Dr. Gladys Sunner of Apopka, FL; four granddaughters Heather Mikkelson, Jennifer Atherton, Anna Wilson, and Addison Wilson; one step grandson Gregg Hilton; and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Friday at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter Yolanda Hilton, 2896 Forest Hills Circle in Rock Hill. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wilson will be held Saturday at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home with Reverend M.H. Hilton officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.
