Sim Pech Be

Sim Pech Be, 85, of York, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 24, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. A native of Cambodia, Mrs. Be was born October 19, 1932, daughter of the late Be Peng and Te Meng. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Taing Dang Choung. Mrs. Be was an incredible role model for her family and taught them how to treat others. As a single mom, she selflessly sacrificed to move her family from Cambodia to the United States to provide a better life for them. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Rick Taing (Ana), Hak Taing (Sim) and Seng Taing (Sokha Pen); daughters, Theang Hear (Hour), Theing Taing (Hourt Chhiv), Leng Ly (Tai) and Maria Wingate; 7 grandsons; 6 granddaughters and 4 great-great grandchildren. A Mass of Buddhist Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
