Stephen Flack Fink

Fort Mill, SC - Stephen "Steve" Flack Fink, age 71, peacefully went home to be with his Lord on Sunday July 21, 2019 in his home. A native of Hinton, West Virginia, he was a member of Transformation Church in Indian Land and former member of Carolinas Cornerstone Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Steve was a quiet gentle loving man who was devoted to his family, especially to his grandchildren, who fondly called him "Gampa."

Steve is predeceased by his brother, Andrew Stewart Fink Jr; father, Andrew Stewart Fink Sr; and mother, Ruby Belle Flack Fink. He is survived by his wife, Frances Matthews Queen; niece Stephanie Lynn Fink; two stepchildren, Sherri Sutherland Bunch (husband Mark) and Jackson Sutherland (wife Maria); and four grandchildren, Brittany Bunch, Jordan Bunch, Ethan Sutherland, and Landon Sutherland.

Steve graduated from the West Virginia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He grew up in a household where his Father worked for a power company, and his older brother was an engineer. He planned for years to open his own engineering business, and never deviated from that plan. He held various offices and served as President of the local chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society. He has served as President of the Lake Norman Rotary Club, as well as President of his Toastmasters Club. Steve was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Professional Engineers of North Carolina, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, and the National Fire Protection Association.

As President of Signet Engineering PA, with offices located in uptown Charlotte, Steve had over 30 years of experience in the design of systems for buildings and has designed projects from coast to coast. He was licensed to practice engineering in over 25 states, and was elected to membership in Tau Beta Pi, the National Honorary Engineering Fraternity.

A Celebration of Steve's life will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
