Steve Weavil

Bruce Stephen Weavil, "Steve", 76, of Fort Mill, SC and formerly of Isle of Palms, SC, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Hospice and Community Care in Rock Hill surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 7, 1943 in Davidson County, NC, son of the late Bruce E. and Nancy Hayworth Weavil.

Steve graduated from NC State University with a bachelor's degree in Furniture Design. He worked in the furniture industry for 15 years, prior to establishing Southcoast Builders, LLC with his wife, B.B.. Together they built custom homes in the Mount Pleasant and Isle of Palms, SC area and Key West, FL. Steve enjoyed gardening and yardwork, miniature golf, photography and horses.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, B.B. Weavil; daughters, Amy Weavil Johnson and husband, Paul of Fort Mill and Brucie Weavil Blackburn and husband, Billy of Fort Mill; grandchildren, Will Blackburn, Piper Johnson and Sullivan Johnson; and brother, Jeff Weavil of Winston-Salem, NC.

A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 6, 2020 at Palmetto Funeral Home of Fort Mill. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Steve's memory to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 9 93, Rock Hill, SC 29732 or to the Mayo Clinic, 4500 San Pablo Road South, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
