Butch Sturgis

ROCK HILL- Steven Edward "Butch" Sturgis, 67, of 5990 Mt. Gallant Road,died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Tuesday at Catawba Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Born in Rock Hill, he is the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Sturgis and the late Bleeker Irene Franklin Sturgis. Butch was a past employee of Randolph Trucking and a self employed Landscaper. He was also a life long member of Catawba Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Judith M. Sturgis; two daughters, Teresa Anderson (Richard) and Hope Icard (David);
two step-sons,Kenny Stowe (Cathleen) and Kerry Stowe (Amy); two brothers, Bobby Sturgis (Fran) and John Sturgis (Mavis); one sister, Joyce McConnell; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Andy Sturgis and a sister, Bennie Long.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday, at Whitesell Funeral Home.
