Susan Nelson Brown

Susan Nelson Brown, 72, of 152 Front Porch Drive in Rock Hill, SC died on June 9, 2022.

A native of the community of Epworth near Vanceboro, NC, Susan was the daughter of the late Joseph Clayton Nelson and Mary Elizabeth House Nelson.  Susan highly valued public education.  She was the valedictorian of her High School class in Vanceboro, NC.  She graduated magna cum laude from Atlantic Christian (Barton) College in Wilson, NC with a degree in Chemistry, and earned a second bachelors degree in Medical Technology from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA.  Susan was devoted to her family.  She enjoyed working at the library and volunteered there after her retirement.  Susan also enjoyed nature, birds, and gardening.

Susan is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry Paulo Brown of Rock Hill, SC; daughter, Amy Brown McCorkle (Richie) of Rock Hill, SC; daughter, Cara Brown Rasso (Jason) of Chapin, SC; son, Ryan Nelson Brown of Charlotte, NC; son, Jeffrey William Brown (Ivonny) and 5 beloved grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth McCorkle, William Brown McCorkle, Kylie Britt Ringer, Madison Rae Ringer, and Grace Indriati Brown.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Clayton Earl Nelson.
