Thelma Wright Hord

Mrs. Thelma Wright Hord, 96 of Fort Mill, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 23, 2017. She was born in Kershaw, SC to the late Robert and Sally Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jesse R. Hord, Sisters Evelyn, Margaret, Grace, brothers Robert and Paul, and her infant daughter Patricia.

She is survived by her daughter Ann Hord Millwood, son David Hord (Trish), granddaughters Susan, Cindy, Adrienne, and Lindsay, and grandson Charles. In addition, she is survived by 6 great-grandchildren.

Thelma worked for Springs Industries at the White Plant for 34 years, where she met her husband Jesse. Thelma loved God, her family, her church, animals, cooking, and telling stories. She never met a stranger & loved everyone. She had a beautiful soul & a giving heart. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.

The family will receive friends at St. John's United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Fort Mill, on Monday, Nov. 27th from 3:30-5pm. The funeral will be held at St. John's UMC Sanctuary on Tuesday, Nov. 28th at 1pm. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery in Fort Mill. The family would like to thank Hospice Care of SC for the loving care provided to our "Granny". In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be sent to the Shriner's Hospital or St. John's United Methodist Church of Fort Mill.
