Thomas George Burroughs

Passed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday February 10, 2022 surrounded by his family at home. Born in November 1932 Tommy Burroughs was the youngest of seven children. He is survived by two older sisters, his wife, 3 children, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 foster great grandchildren, and a host of Church family and friends.

We will celebrate his life on February 18th 2022 at 1 PM. The service will be held at Northside Baptist Church 1140 Curtis St Rock Hill SC 29730. There will be a receiving line for the family from 12:00pm to 12:45 PM in the Church Fellowship Hall. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations should be sent to Interim Health Care Hospice 154 Amendment Ave. Rock Hill SC 29732.

Tommy grew up in Atlanta Ga, and as a young man enlisted in the United States Army. He attended Carson Neuman College and later returned to Atlanta where he married his wife Nancy and they began to raise a family. He was the proverbial traveling sales manager in his younger days working for REA Express, Miller Falls, and Duff Norton. He retired in 1998 and spent the remainder of his life playing bad golf, gardening, keeping up his home, and helping his wife with her Daycare business.

Tommy and Nancy were active in their Church (Northside Baptist) and developed lifelong friendships with many of their members. Tommy especially enjoyed working with the younger children in Sunday School and surely imparted some grandfatherly wisdom to many of those kids. Tommy loved to sing and was active in Church Choir most of his adult life. Today he has the privilege of singing those praises to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Join us on February 18th as we remember the life and legacy of Tom Burroughs.
