Thomas Bradley Camp Iii

October 28, 1959 — September 4, 2018

Brad , 58, died suddenly Sept. 4, 2018 in Lake Wylie, SC. Brad was born in Wichita, Kansas, then lived many years in Pennsylvania before moving to the Carolinas 21 years ago.

Brad loved his wife and kids and worked hard to make sure they were taken care of. He has had several careers during his life that he loved. One of his early jobs was changing off the road tires for earth movers, where he met several lifelong friends. He then worked for Goodyear Tire at several of their racing divisions where he traveled around the country mounting race car tires for NASCAR and other car and truck race series. He made another set of lifelong friends during those years.

Brad’s real passion was food. He would often come home with stories about the places he ate at while on the road. A few years ago he gained the courage to attend college to complete a culinary degree at CPCC, so he could further explore his love of cooking and food. Most recently, he has worked at the River Hills Country Club and The Cove restaurant in Lake Wylie. Once again, Brad made several friends in the food industry in the Charlotte and Lake Wylie area.

Wherever Brad went, he left his mark on people with his humor and friendship. Brad always had funny stories, could talk your ear off about food, tires, and several other topics, and deeply loved his kids and wife. Brad talked about his kids and wife to anyone who would listen so that many times upon meeting his friends later on, it was like they were instant friends.

Brad was incredibly honest, loyal, hardworking, and never complained about doing the menial tasks around the house so that his wife and children could come home to a clean house, a freshly cooked meal, or could spend time together without worrying about doing chores. He was a great friend, which is evidenced by the many friends he made throughout his lifetime, several of which he has known since they were in school together. He could be counted on during the hard times and made you laugh in the good times.

Brad is survived by his wife Joyce, his son Tommy, and daughter Bella. He is also survived by his sisters Susan Ellis, Lucy Pierro and her husband Steve, Jane Rieffanaugh, and their children. He is also survived by Joyce’s parents Janine and Marty Fiorito whom Brad viewed as his own parents.

He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Bradley Camp Jr. and his mother Isabel Houston Camp as well as two sisters, Jesse Newman and Becky Camp.
