Rock Hill, SC - Mr. Thomas Bristow "Crow" Walters, 75, of 923 Standard Street, died Tuesday, August 09, 2011, at his home.
Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2011, at Whitesell Funeral Home, with Pastor Roger Brown officiating. Family will receive friends after the service.
Born May 19, 1936 in Lancaster County, SC, Mr. Walters was a son of the late Shaylor Bevan and Rosebud Ellis Walters.Tom was a veteran who served in the Army Reserves. His favorite hobby was playing golf and he enjoyed following the game of television. Tom was a avid bowler for years in Rock Hill and Charlotte. He enjoyed watching his kids learn the game and loved watching his two sons who still bowl together today. Tom grew up playing most all sports but excelled in baseball. He was a pitcher known for his knuckle ball and played in the Industrial League in the Rock Hill area as a young man. He still followed the Atlanta Braves on television. Tom's favorite place was the beach where he loved to walk on the beach for hours at a time and playing in the ocean.
Surviving are two son, Tommy Walters and Wife, La Faye of Lake Wylie, SC, and Todd Whitesides and wife, Dolores of Lake Wylie, SC; two daughters, Kim Walters Brown and husband, Roger of Rock Hill and Tracey Walters Anderson and husband, Charlie of Concord, NC; a brother, Graham B. Walters of Irondale, AL; six grandchildren, Melanie Brown Powley and husband, David, Christopher D. Brown, Darrin T. Whitesides, Christopher B Whitesides, M'Kenzy R Walters, and Jason W Anderson and one great-grandchild, Ethan Powley.
