Charlotte, NC - Our dear Timothy Joseph Canty passed away suddenly at his home in Charlotte, NC, on January 8, 2020.

Joseph was born December 18, 1981 in Rock Hill, SC to Freda Gray and Dean Canty. He is survived by his three children Cheyenne Autumn (18), Joseph Sage (12), and Scarlett Cecilia Monroe (6) Canty, his mother, Freda Gray (Chuck), his father Dean Canty (Cynthia Carpenter), brother Jarom Canty (Danielle), sister Suzanne Simmons (Brandon), brother-in-law Jared Colon, sister-in-law Hilary Canty, grandmother Sarah Potts Canty, and his adopted siblings Madison, Benjamin, Macey, and Alex Canty. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, and one great-great aunt. Joseph was proceeded in death by his sister, Carolyn Denise Colon, and his grandparents, Everett and Marilyn Porter, and Heyward Canty, Sr.

A service will be held to honor Joseph on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, 6 pm, at the Catawba Nation Longhouse, 996 Avenue of the Nations, Rock Hill SC 29730. Memorial contributions are appreciated and can be made at the service, to Jarom Canty, or online www.gofundme.com\f\joe-canty-memorial.
