Timothy Jay "Jaybird" Johnson

March 27, 1961 — July 21, 2016

Fort Mill - On the evening of July 20, 2016, Jay passed away after eight short months of his battle with cancer, Jay was 55 years old.

Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2016, at Real Life Assembly, Fort Mill, SC with Pastor Nick Moss officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

Jay was an amazing son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. He worked most of his years at The Ranch House of Charlotte and after that he worked as a truck driver for Adesa. Jay was a man that was very kind and would do anything for anyone in need. A man that after you met him once, you had a new family member, he also "adopted" most of his children's, childhood friends. Jay enjoyed riding his motorcycle and interaction with the motorcycle community. He always wanted to make sure everyone knew that not all motorcycle riders were bad.

Surviving are his father, Jerry Johnson (Deanne); his mother, Jewell Short Moss (Jim); a son, TJ Johnson (Meredith); a daughter, Brittany Simmons (Mike); one brother, Nick Moss (Suzanne) and one sister, Jill Lucas (Bob), three step-silbings, Chris Moss, Carrie Whitworth, and Bonnie Hoagland (Chris); and 3 grandchildren, Noah Johnson, Savanna Simmons and Liam Johnson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jodi Moss.

"Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later." (Romans 8:18)
