Rock Hill – Mr. Timothy Wayne Long, 65, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 16, 2019, at Atrium Health, Charlotte, NC.
A graveside service will be 4:30 pm Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens, 700 Heckle Blvd, Rock Hill, SC 29730, with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the home.
A native of York County, Mr. Long was a son of the late Rev. Buster E. Long and Mary Moss Long. Mr. Long was an active member of Faith Family Christian Center where he was involved in the senior ministries, couples’ ministries, social dinners, and Vacation Bible School. He had a love for children and enjoyed giving them candy and gifts for the holidays. He enjoyed volunteering in the outreach ministry for the Turbeville Children’s Home. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 20 years, Janet Sexton Long; a daughter, Mary Kathleen Rouzer and her husband, Jason; a step-daughter, Tara Elizabeth Revell and her husband, Christopher III; a step-son, Alfred Rudolph Simon IV and his wife, Priscilla; two brothers, Daniel E. Long and his wife, Jonna, and Michael Long and his wife, Karen; and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Kathleen Long.
