Trudy Lee Quinn, age 69, died peacefully after a long illness on December 5th, 2021. Born July 28th, 1952, she was the only daughter of Joseph Erskine Quinn and Rose Ford Quinn. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Erskine Quinn, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth; her aunt Patricia Quinn; her nephew Joseph Erskine Quinn III; her niece’s, Ashley Cole-Laws and husband Jamie; and Kathryne Anderson and husband Wesley; and loving great nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Ms. Quinn graduated from Rock Hill High School as salutatorian of the class of 1970 and from Furman University in 1974 with honors, including membership in Furman's honor society, Hand and Torch, Pi Gamma Mu, and Phi Beta Kappa. Her graduate work included a Master of Education at Winthrop University as a member of Phi Kappa Phi.
Upon graduation, Ms. Quinn began a career with Bell South as their southeastern marketing manager with offices over the years in Columbia and Atlanta. Her retirement brought her home to Rock Hill to teach at York Technical College, and a position in human resources at Bowater. In her leisure time, Trudy enjoyed tending her garden, trips to the beach, and her friends in the Red Hat Society.
A faithful member of Rawlinson Road Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School, worked with the youth program, and was instrumental in grant writing for the church's ministry. Memorials may be made there, Rawlinson Road Baptist Church, 1024 Rawlinson Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29732.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Thursday, December 9th, 2021, at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens, 700 Heckle Blvd., Rock Hill, with Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home assisting.
