Vann "Boogie" Douglas Elder Jr.

Rock Hill - Vann "Boogie" Douglas Elder Jr., 49, of 3855 Winter Road, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010, at his home.

Memorial services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, at the home of his sister, Connie Demby, 1988 Hall Spencer Road, Edgemoor, S.C.. The family will receive friends after the service.

A native of Charlotte, NC, Mr. Elder was a son of Vann Douglas "Pop" Elder Sr. and the late Grace Hill Elder. He retired as a truck driver after many years. He was a big Hank Williams fan. He also loved to take his nieces and nephews fishing. To his family, he was just a big Teddy Bear. He was often called upon to DJ many parties and functions in the local area which he loved to do.

In addition to his father, he his survived by a brother, Kelly Scott Elder; and two sisters, Susie Johns and Connie Demby.
