Virgie Irene Fling

Virgie Irene Fling, 89, formerly of Rock Hill, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord, August 18, 2018. She was born May 24, 1929, in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Irene was passionate about her Lord, her family and her friends. She was a member of Harvest Ministries Church in Rock Hill, SC. She was very active in ministry, but her favorite ministry was teaching art. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Sadie Wilcox; her loving husband of 64 years, Dan Fling; and 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Surviving are her son, Larry Wayne Fling (Libby); a daughter, Geneva Galloway (Julian); 4 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren; two sisters--Helen Bare and Geneva Barr; and two sister's-in-law--Alice Ray and Billie Plyler. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 22, at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, 700 Heckle Blvd, Rock Hill, SC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Cemetery.
