Virgil Lee Ayers

YORK - Virgil Lee Ayers, 78, of 203 McClain St., died Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at his home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, at Whitesell Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Lee Ayers officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Born in Rock Hill, Mr. Ayers was the son of the late John Lawrence Ayers and Carrie Barley Ayers. He will be remembered as a wonderful, loving husband to Pansy Ayers for fifty-eight years.

He is survived by his wife, Pansy Lipe Ayers; two sons, Dennis Lee Ayers (Jennifer) and Kenneth Wayne Ayers (Kimi); one daughter, Angela Denise Weeks (Edward); one sister, Faye Pittman (Ira); Nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
