Virginia Mae Bagley

June 1, 1925 — October 13, 2011

Virginia Mae Thompson Bagley, 86, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Piedmont Medical Center. A native of Rock Hill, Mrs. Bagley was born June 1, 1925 daughter of the late Charlie and Lottie Mae Wells Thompson. She was a homemaker and charter member of Oakdale Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Grady Bagley, Sr.; and two brothers Frank and Eugene Thompson. Surviving are two daughters Phyllis Adkins and her husband John of Rock Hill, Juanita Gaston and her husband Gene of Rock Hill; two sons John Grady Bagley, Jr. and his wife Doniece of Rock Hill, Tommy Bagley and his wife Renee of Chester; ten grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; three sisters Peggy Brannon and husband Flemmon of Rock Hill, Darlene Lesslie and Doretta Comer of Rock Hill; a brother Marvin Thompson and his wife Melba of Fort Lawn; also numerous nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bagley will be held Saturday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Devinney officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Park on S. Cherry Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the hour of service on Saturday. The family has requested memorials be made to the Mission Church in Africa that was dedicated in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Bagley, memorials may be sent to Africa Mission Team, c/o Oakdale Baptist Church 1249 Oakdale Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to the Next Generation Child Development Center c/o Oakdale Baptist Church 1249 Oakdale Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
