Virginia Clarice (Lovett)Thompson died at her residence that she shared with her daughter and son in Baxter Village, Fort Mill, SC, May 18, 2014, 9:15 pm She born in the North Springfield area of Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida on October 31, 1928 to Rufus Clarence and Virginia Louise (Canady) Lovett. She met her Savior, Jesus Christ, at the tender age of 12 and joined the Berea Baptist Church in 1940. She was a Sunday School teacher, WMU member of both Murray Hill Baptist and Lake Shore Baptist of Jacksonville and she was a founding member of Living Vine Church in Pineville, NC. She's been preparing to see Jesus face to face all her life and in great peace passed away to the home of the redeemed, leaving her devoted children, Rosmarie (Thompson) Fox, Robert Lee Thompson, and Ruby Kathryn (Thompson) & husband, William Wilfong. Clarice's husband of 36 years, Robert Lee Thompson, of Huntington, WV and daughter, Theresa Louise (Thompson) Britt, both preceded her in death. A large circle of 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren rise up and call her blessed for they love and adore their Granny and GiGi. She is also survived by her loving sisters and brothers; Clarence [Jean] Lovett, Bettie Jean [Bill-dec'd] Pierce, Sharon [Wayne] Beatty and Wayne [Robbie] Lovett. Of course, Clarice loved all her nieces, nephews and cousins more than words can say. In lieu of a funeral (as requested by Clarice), a Going to see Jesus Open House will be held at her home between 1 and 5 pm on Sunday, May 25, 2014.
