Wai Ming Lee Lui was born on February 9, 1914 in Canton, China. She married Ho Yin Lui in 1934. The two of them braved through World War II and Chinese Civil War and later moved to Hong Kong. She taught in Elementary school for decades and earned her students' love and respect. In the 70's, she immigrated to U.S.A. In 1982, she eventually settled down in Rock Hill where she lived for 35 years and claimed it as her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Ho Yin Lui and her two daughters, Foon-bing Lui and Foon-ching Lui. She is survived by her daughter Foon -yin Lui Cai of Beijing, China; her son Gee Hung Lui of Houston, TX; her daughter Foon-sai Lui Chen of York, SC; and her daughter Foon-ling Lui of Rock Hill, SC. She is survived by ten grand children: Li Sheng Cai, Li Shang Cai, Teresa Lui Belanger, Kee San Lui, Bonnie Chen Snibbe, Nancy Chen Fritz, Tammy Chen Van Remmem, Jane Wong Armbruster, Pearl Wong, and Dennis Ming Nichols. She is also survived by thirteen great grand children. A visitation will take place Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home, 700 Heckle Boulevard, Rock Hill, S.C. 29730 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. During the visitation, a sharing time will start at 4:00 p.m.
