Walter Lyle Mitchell

Walter L. Mitchell, 96, a longtime resident of Rock Hill, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016. He was an active member of Mt. Holly UMC and was the Owner of Mitchells Store for over 30 years. He loved to fish, hunt, and raise his garden each year. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Frances Earle Hope Mitchell. He is survived by: a son: W. William "Bill" Mitchell and wife Elizabeth; 2 grandchildren: Eric Mitchell (Courtney) Chris Mitchell (Amy); 4 great-grandchildren: Whitt, Matthew, Hampton, Reid, several nieces and nephews also survive. A funeral will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 1:00pm in the Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Mt. Holly UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00noon until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Holly UMC Cemetery Fund.
