Wayne Hinson

Pineville, NC – Wayne Hinson, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at his home.

Graveside services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Pineville City Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Henry officiating.

A native of Pineville, NC, Mr. Hinson was a son of the late Tommy Hinson and Peggy Neeley Hinson.  He worked with Carolina Specialty Metals for over 30 years where he was employed as a machinist. He enjoyed playing golf and collecting coins.  He will be remembered as a very good shade tree mechanic.  He was able to fix anything, and computers would be one example.  He was a sports fan and he loved his Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Braves.  

Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Hazel Elaine Turner Hinson; a daughter, Christy Towery (Benji); two granddaughters, Ashley Barnett (Tim) and Emily Towery (Katie Lawrence); and two great-grandchildren, Eric Barnett and AnnaBelle Barnett.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil Hinson, Marion Hinson, and Jacky Hinson; and two sisters, Laura Hughes and Pansy Rawls. 

 In leiu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
