William Edmond Boynton (Bill) age 91 of Indian Land, SC, died peacefully on Friday December 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by family.

After the war he returned to Canada and worked as a school teacher. In his spare time he enjoyed working as a referee for the Canadian Football League, the professional league in Canada.

In June of 1953, Bill married Dolores (Dee) Magdalen Heuer. They raised four children together, Cecilia, Gary, Roberta and Patrick. Bill and Dee were happily married for 27 years before Dee passed away in 1981.

Bill served in many capacities with State Farm and had a lasting impact on many of those he worked with. His final responsibility before retiring was leading the Florida Region for State Farm. He loved the people he was privileged to work with throughout his long career.

Audrey and her daughter, Jane, son-in-law Walter, son Jac and daughter-in-law Paula, and their children and grandchildren brought a tremendous amount of joy to Bill and his family. The two families became one.

In retirement, Bill served on several community boards and in many children's charities. He truly loved and cared for others and always strived to make a difference in the world. Bill had a passion and love for the game of golf and spending time on the golf course with his many friends.
