William (Bill) O. Noffz Bill Noffz died peacefully at home with his family at his bedside after a courageous battle against leukemia on Saturday, April 3, 2010. He is the son of the late William O Noffz Sr. and Ruby Porter Noffz. He is survived by his devoted wife Pat, sisters Sandra Dorn (husband Ray) and Margaret Robinson, and loving children William Brian and Michael Noffz (wife Jenny), Susan Parker (husband Mat), and step-sons Robert and J. Stephen James. He is Grandpa Bill to Mackenzie, Parker, and Preston Noffz, and Nicholas, Alex, and Colin William Parker. Bill was born in Greenwood, SC on December 5, 1944. He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Agricultural Science and was a member of the Pershing Rifles. Bill served six years in the Army in Korea and at Ft. Gordon and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. After the army, Bill returned home to Greenwood to his love, agriculture, and managed the farm where he grew up. A few years later, Bill moved to Rock Hill and worked for many years in farm product sales before going to work for Pennington Seed Company. Bill worked there for 19 years, up until his battle with cancer began. During this time he made many friends and was well respected for his business expertise, the joy he took in helping others succeed, and his dedication to always doing his best. Bill was an avid golfer, and he and Pat spent many happy hours together walking the fairways. Throughout his illness Bill never lost his faith in God, and he faced each day with dignity, grace, and hope. He was a wonderful father, husband, and friend, and he will be missed more than words can say. A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm Tuesday, April 6 at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held later that day in Greenwood, SC.
