William Jerry Self

Rock Hill - Jerry Self, 81, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Piedmont Medical Center. He is gone to his heavenly home to be with the Lord.

A memorial service will be on Tuesday May 9, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church, 218 Annafrel Street, Rock Hill, SC with the Rev. Michael Poore officiating. Visitation will follow after service. Burial will be private.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria B. Self of 59 years of marriage; four daughters, Anita S. Faulkenberry, Cathy S. Hensley (Billy), Valerie Self, and Pamela S. Hopkins (Billy II); five grandchildren, Andrea F. Jones (Chris), Kelly Faulkenberry, Tiffany H. Blakely (Justin), Billy Ray Hopkins III, and Jenny F. Moss (Keith); six great-grandchildren: Bethany, Ethan, Jaxon, Amelia, Taelor, and Olivia, one great-great-grandchild; Isabella; two godchildren, Summer and Lily, one sister, Frances S. Mynatt; two brothers, Donnie (Margie) and David (Debbie) Self, a sister-in-law, Eleanor Self and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

He worked at JP Stevens (Industrial Mill) in Rock Hill, SC for over 30 years and retired from Untied Supply Company in Charlotte, NC.

He is preceded by his parents William Raleigh and Inez Jordan Self; his stepmother, Bertha C. Self, one sister, Peggy Brazzell; and two brothers, Glenn and Ray Self.
