William Sheen, 92, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, passed away in his home on August 2, 2022. Bill (a.k.a. Señor Bill and Uncle Willi) was born in Moscow, Russia to Anna and Frederick Schoenemann in 1930. He later lived with his Aunt Lola in Hanover, Germany together with his sister Maria. With the help of his Aunt Emma in New York he emigrated to the United States in 1951, arriving the day after his 21st birthday. He was soon drafted by the U.S. Army, and was very proud to serve his new country in the Korean War. First working as a machinist, Bill became a Mechanical Engineer and worked for Con Edison in New York City for 25 years before retiring in 1993. He lived on Long Island, NY for 40+ years before moving to South Carolina with his wife, Leonor, in 2018 to be near his son, Alex, and his blossoming family. Being a dependable husband and father was of the utmost importance to Bill, and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. In addition to Leonor and Alex, Bill is survived by his daughter-in-law, Ellen, grandsons William ("Liam") and Nolan, as well as son, Fred, and grandsons Josh and Colin. The funeral service will be held at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill on Friday, August 12th at 11 a.m. There will be visitation at the same location beginning at 10 a.m. His family will be present to welcome loved ones.
