William I Thomas

William I. Thomas, 85 of Fort Mill South Carolina, passed away on December 16, 2024 in the town of Fort Mill.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm ET on Saturday December 21, 2024 at Palmetto Funeral Group, 2049 Carolina Place Drive Fort Mill, SC 29708.

William was born In Akwesasne, NY to Catherine Hearn on July 8, 1939.  He started school in Hogansburg, NY and then moved to Cicero, NY where he graduated High School.  He married Julia Kalinchak on July 4th, 1964 in Buffalo, NY.

William started his career working for the IRS then worked for General Electric for the remainder of his career.

William was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels for 14 years and enjoyed golfing and horse racing.  He and Julia raised their children in Saratoga Springs,  NY.

William is preceded in death by his mother Catherine, brothers Michael, Herbert and John and his granddaughters Cheyanne and Taylor.

William is survived by his wife Julia, his sister Margaret, his sons Glenn (wife Yvonne) and Gregg (wife Denise), his daughters Heather (husband Dave) and Melissa (husband John); his grandsons Simon and Adam, granddaughter Hailey and family friend William Rowan.
