William Charles Whitman

William Charles Whitman (Bill), 88, passed away Sunday, August 12,2018, at Piedmont Medical Center. This kind, gentle soul was born in Bennington, Vermont, and was a Veteran of the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Central Piedmont Community College as the Director of Trades and Industry. After retiring from CPCC, he continued with co-authoring 8 Editions of the bestselling textbook Heating and Air Conditioning Technology.
Surviving is the love of his life for 68 years, Barbara Whitman; children, William C. Whitman, Jr. (Rosemary) of Charlotte, Jane Whitman Maynard (Ken) of Chesapeake, VA, Nancy Klotz (Bud) of Naperville, IL, and Stephen H. Whitman (Kim) of Ridgeway, SC; grandchildren, Emily Whitman, Elliott Lyons, Shane Whitman, Margo Lyons, Kyle Whitman (Brittany), and Sarah Whitman Harris (Craig); and one great grandchild River H. Whitman.
A gathering of Family and Friends will be August 17, 2018, from 11:00 to 1:00 at Palmetto Funeral Home.........
