ROCK HILL - William Raymond Workman (Bill), age 78, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, surrounded by family, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 28, 2015.

After serving twenty-four years in the Navy, Bill enjoyed fishing, Northwestern High School football games and spending time with his family. He will always be remembered for his kind, gentle heart and humble, giving spirit.

He is survived by his wife, Lois E. Workman; four sons, Billy Ray Workman (Terri), Louis Gagan (Michelle), Willie Workman (Melissa), Pete Workman (Charlene); eight daughters, Vida Workman, Catherine Davis, Nani Workman, Debbie Robinson (Joel), Luana Soares (Bobby), Linda Johnson (Matt), Billie Howe (Terry), Leona Workman; thirty-three much loved grandchildren; brothers Bobby Workman and Jack Byers. Preceding him in death were his parents, Richard Eugene and Evelyn Byers Workman, his brother Richard Mack Workman, and sister Gina Workman.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Timothy 4:7.

A Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at St. Philip Neri, 292 Munn Rd. E, Fort Mill, SC, to be followed by a celebration of life at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
