Wilma W.Lazear Parkis walked into the arms of her savior on October 20, 2009. She lived a very rich long like of 89 years. She was the daughter of the late Dr. William and Grace Lazear from Derby Iowa. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Lazear, Howard Lazear, and Gerald Lazear, and one sister, Mary Schlafke. She was beloved by her husband of 66 years Charles Parkis. Wilma was a wonderful mother to her three daughters, Sherian Nestor of Morgantown, WVa, Cristine Brown of Lynden, WA, and Janet Shope of Rock Hil,l SC. She is mourned by her grandchildren, Scott Nestor, Lisa (Nestor) Smith, and Greg Nestor; Stephen Brown, Jefferey Brown, Keith Brown, and Eric Brown; and Joshua Shope and Jennifer Shope. Wilma also took delight in her 17 great grandchildren. Wilma had a beautiful smile and was a great encourager to her family and friends. She made everyone feel important. Wilma and Charles were active members of Ebenezer ARP church of Rock Hill. She loved the Lord and desired everyone to hear that Jesus loved them also. Her legacy is an extended family that has been blessed to hear this. All who knew her were enriched by her tremendously loving influence. Wilma spent the last four years of her life being taken care of lovingly by the staff at White Oak Manor, and she grew to consider it her home. There will be a viewing at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home on Thursday, October 22 from 6:00-8:00 PM, followed by a funeral at Ebeneezer Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill on Friday at 11:00 AM. with interment at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens
