Worth "Red" Thompson Walker, Jr.

Worth Thompson Walker, Jr., "Red", 59, of Fort Mill, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Atrium Health in Charlotte. He was born June 18, 1960 in York County, SC.

A passion for bodybuilding, Red was a power lifter, a fierce competitor and a 5 time state champion. A God fearing man, he loved and served God throughout his life and attended Elevation Church in Charlotte. Full of life, Red was a lover of people, a master storyteller and prankster, and had a contagious smile and laugh that could light up any room. He was a confident and hard-working man that dedicated his time and talents professionally to Frito-Lay for over 20 years. A loving husband, wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Barbara A. Walker "Barbie" of Fort Mill; parents, Sylvia Christie (Mark) of Rock Hill and Frances Walker of Catawba; sons, Thomas Allen Walker (Cheryl) of Rock Hill, Bradley Walker of Fort Mill and Thomas Jaray Walker of Charlotte; daughters, Shannon Blanks (Rodney) of Catawba, Brittany Graves (Ross) of Indian Land and Maree Isabella Walker of Fort Mill; grandchildren, Caleb Blanks, Brandon Walker, Savannah Whiteside, Avery Walker and Wesley Roman; brothers, Tim Walker (Angie) and Jack B. Walker, Jr. (Judy), all of Fort Mill and Robert Laney (Candace) of Lancaster; sister, Teresa Roper of Catawba; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Vernon Walker.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Fort Mill Church of God. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm at the church. Burial will follow at Rock Hill Memorial Gardens.
